# BenefitJurisdictions

`BenefitJurisdictions` enumerates the recognised benefit jurisdiction codes (`Unknown`, `State`, `Federal`) that `clsBenefitJurisdictionCodeMap` maps from `BENEFIT_JURISDICTION_CODE` rows; its doc comment notes it was generated from that table in the `WCISDEV1` instance. Only `"S"`/`"F"` codes are ever mapped ([BR-POL-012](../../business-rules.md#br-pol-012-benefit-jurisdiction-code-recognition)).

## Purpose
- Provide a closed set of benefit jurisdiction classifications for use by `clsBenefitJurisdictionCodeMap` and `iAdjustedRateProvider.BenefitJurisdiction`.

## Context
- Namespace: `SAIF.Business.Policy`
- Assembly/package: `SAIF.Business.Policy` (`PolicyCommon`)

## Public members
| Member | Signature | Purpose |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `Unknown` | Enum member | Default/unmapped jurisdiction value. |
| `State` | Enum member | Maps from raw code `"S"` (BR-POL-012). |
| `Federal` | Enum member | Maps from raw code `"F"` (BR-POL-012). |

## Behavioral notes
- The doc comment states this enum was "Generated from table BENEFIT_JURISDICTION_CODE in WCISDEV1" — a development database instance reference, not a production schema name.*
- Only `State` and `Federal` are populated by `clsBenefitJurisdictionCodeMap.New`; any other code row is left unmapped (BR-POL-012).

## Constraints and usage notes
- Consumers should treat any code other than `"S"`/`"F"` as absent from the map, not as `Unknown` per row — `Unknown` is a default enum value, not a mapped code.*

> **Note:** Statements marked with * were inferred from code structure, naming conventions, or
> contextual evidence where direct confirmation was not available in source artifacts.
